1. What the service is
Dentist Finder UK is an independent directory for practices in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Wales is excluded from the directory. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the NHS. We do not provide dental treatment, take bookings, act as a dental provider, or give medical advice.
We display published dental-practice directory information and reported NHS availability. This is not a live NHS booking service, and listings are not independently verified for current capacity. An “unknown” or missing status is not a refusal of NHS patients. The availability filter may help you find practices reported to accept NHS patients, but it cannot guarantee an appointment or current acceptance. Always confirm details with the practice.
2. Safe and acceptable use
Use the directory lawfully and respectfully. You must not overload, disrupt or attempt unauthorised access to the site, impersonate someone, or use it to make decisions about another person unlawfully. Information is provided for general signposting; check important details directly with a practice and seek professional advice for health decisions.
Reviews must be honest, relevant and based on your own experience. Do not submit false, private, abusive, threatening, defamatory or discriminatory content, personal contact details, sensitive health details, or information identifying children or other people. We may decline, remove or ask about content that appears to breach these rules or the law.
3. Reviews and reports
A review displays your chosen name (or “Anonymous patient”), rating from 1–5, comment and submission date on the associated practice page. Reviews submitted on practice pages are stored separately and displayed as patient feedback; they are not official NHS ratings and are not presented as medically reviewed. You retain ownership of content you submit, but give us permission to store, reproduce and publicly display it as part of the directory. To request a correction or removal, write to the postal contact below with the relevant practice and content.
Community reports: Patients can submit a report through a practice page. The API acknowledges the submission, but it does not currently change the imported status or persist the report in the directory. A report is handled in the request, not saved as a report; operational error logs may contain validation details.
4. Third-party links and availability
Practice websites, Google Maps directions, map data, postcode lookup and other linked services are operated by third parties. Their content, availability, terms and privacy practices are outside our control. A link is not an endorsement. We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the directory without promising uninterrupted or error-free availability.
5. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the directory is provided without a promise that listings, availability, map results or patient feedback are complete, accurate, current or suitable for your purpose. We are not responsible for decisions made solely from directory information or for third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to those limits, our reasonable liability for use of this free service is restricted to the extent the law allows.
6. Urgent care
This site is not an emergency service. For urgent dental care, arrangements differ: NHS 111 can direct callers in England, Scotland and Wales, while Northern Ireland has separate dental urgent-care arrangements. Follow local public-health guidance or contact an urgent dental service. Call 999 for a life-threatening emergency.
7. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer rights and any protections that apply where you live are preserved; nothing here forces an exclusive court jurisdiction where that would be unlawful.
